FREE MEDITATION

Question:

Shit, this made me laugh!!! (I mean "Shit" in it’s most positive sense) Thank you. It’s nice to know I can provoke someone to having a good shit. :)

thank you for that vivid image, Alan! — Laz Spashett "damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive"

Have you ever tried paying for groceries with a spare few hours? The assistants never seem to have the necessary conversion tables programmed on their tills. Either that, or they have no loose minutes for the change. Well, there IS a food co-op here where one CAN pay part of one’s food bill by working a few hours. I will admit I hadn’t thought of what they might do for change….

It makes sense, as long as there’s work for someone untrained to do. I suppose the main problem might be the feeling of the managers that they aren’t in control. In my experience, managers like to pretend that they’re in control. My favorite "free" is "free gift." As opposed to the gift I am going to pay for?

You’ve surely heard of giving expensive presents? —          The opinions given above may be mine. They might also            just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

HOW TO MEDITATE – CLEAR, READABLE AND PRACTICAL – http://web.one.net.au/~sankara/ My name is Roger Wells, and with 9 years of training in Vipassana meditation, I train people in meditation techniques here in Melbourne Australia. Part of my work is to give out whatever information about meditation that is needed to anyone who needs it – no charge, and no hype. In 1996 I wrote a book about meditation, entitled ‘Happy Too Burn’, which has been published in Australia by Lothian books (1997), and it has reached a lot of people here in Australia. Happy to Burn can be seen and downloaded from my web site at: http://web.one.net.au/~sankara/ as an Adobe Reader file. Happy to Burn gives clear, non-religious explanations about how mindfulness meditation works in the mind and body, as well as clear instructions as to how to build a practice and apply it in your life. My own training has been intensive, and well managed by two wonderful teachers, both venerable monks, well respected in their different ways of teaching. Between 1991 and 1996, I was trained by Acharn Thawee Baladhammo at Sorn Thawee Meditation Centre in Chacheongsao, in Thailand.  Since Acharn Thawee died in 1996, I have continued my training with Acharn Sangvahn Khemmako at Wat Tungsamakeedham in Suphanburi, Thailand. In my own work, and in my writing, I am intent on bridging the gap between orthodox Buddhist practice and the very particular requirements of the western mind, to bring meditation to life for us in a way that is practical, workable, and clear. The techniques I teach then, are free from spiritual or religious speculation – they are skills that help to re-condition the mind, by showing it a new experience of conditioned reality – to make the mind more efficient in the ways in which it processes it
